WELCOME

Hello!!! We want to welcome you to our English blog. We would like to offer you different activities, videos or games we have found on the internet, so you can play with your child at home, and review the vocabulary and grammar they are learning at school. Learning a foreign language is easier through playing, and new technologies can help them, because it is a fun and great way to learn English. We hope you enjoy these activities as much as your child does, and help you as parents to use different tools to help your child with this language. You can also comment with any concerns you have or if you like or dislike any activity. Thank you and we hope you have fun playing the games and singing the songs with your child!

2º Natural Science. FLOWERING AND NON-FLOWERING PLANTS. (Atividad para DRIVE) + LW opcional

FLOWERING AND NON-FLOWERING PLANTS

Good morning everyone!

A new day has come and we are going to keep learning about plants.

Today we will see the difference between FLOWERING and NON-FLOWERING plants.

(Hoy seguiremos aprendiendo sobre las plantas. Veremos que existen plantas CON flor y plantas SIN flor.)

As we can see in our daily life, most plants are FLOWERING plants, they have bright colours and they produce different types of seeds to reproduce.

Although you know it from the previous year, let’s have a look at the parts of a flower and how they reproduce.

Parts of a plants and pollination. Dr Binocs https://youtu.be/djPVgip_bdU

On the other hand there also exist NON-FLOWERING plants, like ferns and mosses, which do not produce seeds. They use spores to reproduce instead.

Spores…?? Ferns…?? Mosses…?? What are you talking about, teacher?
Let’s see it clearer with some videos we hope help you to understand it better.

And to end up with today's videos, here you have some examples I've recorded at home...I'm sorry but I don't have ferns or mosses...

2º Natural Science. PLANT REPRODUCTION + Padlet

Good morning everyone!!

Are you ready for today's lesson?

As you know, many plants produce seed inside their flowers.

Do you know that we can use seeds to plant fruits and vegetables or eat them?

Today we'll see the differences among a flower, a fruit and a seed.

2º Natural Science. CLASSIFYING TREES (ACTIVIDAD PARA DRIVE)

Good morning everyone!!

Today we’re going to see how we can CLASSIFY TREES.

There are two types of tree: DECIDUOUS trees lose their leaves in autumn and winter, and EVERGREEN trees which keep their leaves green throughout the year.

Here you have a wonderful explanation to understand better if they lose their leaves or not.

2º Natural Science. CLASSIFYING PLANTS + Liveworksheet

CLASSIFYING PLANTS

Good morning!! How are you today? We hope you’re all fine :)
Today we are going to see different ways of classifying plants.

As you know, we can classify them in many ways. For example, as wild or cultivated or whether we can eat them.

First of all, we will watch a video to review what the parts of a plant are.

Now we want you to focus your attention in the main difference between WILD and CULTIVATED plants. There’s an easy video animation.

Remember! WILD plants grow in nature and CULTIVATED plants need our help to grow.

And finally, here you have a video about the food that we get from plants.
